Beware of BJP, if BJP comes to power they will implement three black agricultural laws

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched a sharp political attack on the BJP, Akali Dal and Congress, saying that these traditional political parties have betrayed Punjab through decades of divisive politics, anti-Punjab decisions and corruption. He said that if the BJP government comes to the state, it will once again implement black farming laws. Speaking during a public meeting at village Manki in Samrala, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the BJP has exposed its anti-Punjab ideology by making Sanskrit compulsory and Punjabi optional in army schools. He said that the party is an expert in creating communal tension to divide the voters before the elections.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that hundreds of farmers were martyred during the agitation for the repeal of the Agrarian Act. He said that even after the martyrdom of hundreds of farmers, how can the BJP seek votes in Punjab. He said that unlike the previous governments, the AAP government is returning people’s money through welfare schemes, jobs, education, healthcare and development works. He also gave Rs 50 lakh for development projects in the village.

Addressing a gathering during a public meeting in Samrala, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab should be wary of divisive and anti-Punjab forces who are constantly trying to weaken the state politically, socially and economically. He said, “BJP has adopted an anti-Punjab mentality and this narrow-mindedness of theirs is exposed by making Sanskrit compulsory and Punjabi as an optional subject in army schools in Punjab. BJP has always done injustice to Punjab.”

The Chief Minister said, “BJP has continuously done injustice to the state on issues like Panjab University, Chandigarh, BBMB, SYL Canal, Harike Canal, Republic Day tableaus, RDF fund or border area funds.”

He said that BJP has always played politics of riots and division. He asked the people to give a befitting reply to the forces trying to create instability in Punjab before the upcoming elections. He added, “Some political parties in Punjab are trying to divide people in the name of religion. BJP’s politics is focused on dividing communities and then seeking votes by intimidating them. Punjab has already seen dark days in the past which derailed the development of the state. So people should be wary of such forces.”

Appealing to the people to remain united, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government has worked tirelessly for the all-round development of Punjab and unlike the previous governments, they have never misused public money for personal comforts. “I have not taken a single penny from the government treasury for myself. Taxpayers’ money is being spent judiciously for public welfare. As your son and brother, I have always focused on sharing your pains and hardships instead of leading a life of luxury like previous governments,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the previous governments were confined to their homes only and never bothered to directly interact with the people about their problems. He said, “No old leader ever came among the people in this way to listen and resolve their grievances. Those arrogant politicians stayed away from the people and today they are surprised by every pro-people initiative being taken by the Punjab government.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that citizen-centric and development-centric policies are being made by his government after the feedback of the people. He said, “Opposition is trying to mislead people through false and insulting rhetoric but Punjabis are wise enough to know the dubious and manipulative character of these leaders. These tricks will never stop me from serving Punjab.”

Attacking the opposition parties, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they have no agenda against the Punjab government as the government has taken many historic decisions for the welfare of the people. Condemning the Akali Dal, he said that the party has hurt the sentiments of Punjabis through incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Every vote given to the Akalis will be a fatwa in favor of desecration of the Guru and Gurbani. They disrespected the teachings of the great Gurus and ordered firing on innocent people in Behibal Kalan and Bargari. They also grossly disrespected Sri Akal Takht Sahib.”

Referring to the claims of development during the Akali regime of Sukhbir Badal, the Chief Minister said that the Akali leaders conveniently ignored the painful incidents at Kotakpura, Behbal Kalan and Bargari where incidents of sacrilege took place and innocent people lost their lives. He said, “The Akalis have badly looted Punjab, emotionally hurt Punjabis and patronized the mafia in the state. Every vote for the Akalis will be a fatwa in favor of blasphemy.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Akali leadership can never be forgiven as it patronized the drug trade during its tenure, which destroyed the young generations of Punjab. “These people are responsible for generations of genocide because the drug trade flourished under their protection during their long period of misrule,” he said.

Highlighting the passing of the Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Reverence (Amendment) Act, 2026, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has unanimously passed a historic law which ensures severe punishment for desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. “We are fortunate that God entrusted us with the responsibility of passing this historic act unanimously. This law will ensure that no one dares to commit blasphemy in the future. Anyone found guilty of this unpardonable crime will be given exemplary punishment and the guilty will not be spared at any cost,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that people all over the world are appreciating and thanking the Punjab government for implementing this law. Again targeting the Akali leadership, he said that some of the leaders who opposed the law were doing so because they knew that their employers would face accountability for their involvement in incidents of blasphemy. He said, “These opportunistic leaders change colors like chameleons according to their convenience and personal political interests. Badal family associates are opposing this act because they know that their masters will have to face the consequences of their actions.” He further said that Badal family’s hands are stained with the blood of patriots and their betrayal of the interests of Punjab can never be forgiven.

Targeting the Congress, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that every Congress leader wants to become the Chief Minister and more than the ordinary workers in the party want to become the Chief Minister. “Congress is a divided house and its infighting will only destroy it. Their leaders are dreaming of coming to power but Punjabis are fully aware of their reality,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the tax money collected from the people belongs to the people and the Punjab government is spending it honestly on welfare initiatives. “People’s money is now being returned to the people through development, schools, hospitals and roads. 90 percent households are getting free electricity. More than 65,000 youths have been given government jobs without corruption. Roads are being improved, expired toll plazas have been closed saving people Rs 70 lakh per day and infrastructure is being strengthened across Punjab.

He said that when the present government assumed power, only 22 percent canal water was being used for irrigation in Punjab, but now it has increased to more than 80 percent. “The AAP government has laid 14,000 km of pipelines across Punjab and strengthened and revitalized waterways. About 21,000 cusecs of water have been released through these waterways to benefit farmers and meet irrigation needs. This is equivalent to the supply of two Bhakra canals.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that recharge points have also been developed in canals and rivers to improve the groundwater level. “Due to these efforts, the water level has increased by two to four meters. Punjab means water and without water, Punjab does not exist. These initiatives aim to secure the future of future generations.

The Chief Minister emphasized that only freebies and concession cards cannot eradicate poverty permanently, it is education that can truly transform society. “Education is the key to eradicating poverty and social injustice. It raises the standard of living and empowers future generations.

Highlighting the AAP government’s achievements in education, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has surpassed Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi by securing first rank in primary and middle-school education. “For the last four years, our government has focused on teacher training, modern teaching methods and smart classrooms. Punjab has strengthened its education system and today NITI Aayog data shows that Punjab has become number one in school education, beating Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi.

The Chief Minister said that education is the lamp that removes darkness from the society and therefore the AAP government is giving top priority to this sector. “Earlier Kerala was at the top, but now Punjab has taken the top spot by a huge margin and we will continue to improve.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that the ‘AAP’ government has started Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojana under which health cards are being issued to all 65 lakh families of Punjab. “Each family is entitled to free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh under this scheme. More than 30 lakh beneficiaries have already made health cards and so far around 1.65 lakh people have availed the free treatment.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to make maximum use of this scheme and said that for the first time in the history of Punjab, agricultural motors are being provided uninterrupted power supply for more than eight hours during the paddy season. “Farmers are now getting electricity for irrigation during the day for the first time, which has changed their lives.

Talking about the Mawan Dhiyan Shrekh Yojana, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has started giving Rs 1,000 per month to women belonging to general category families above 18 years of age and Rs 1,500 per month to scheduled caste category women.

“This public meeting is not a political event but a platform to directly interact with the people. Earlier, many governments came and went in Punjab, but no one cared about the welfare of the people. The previous parties only played the game of power chair to loot the treasury of Punjab. When the Punjabis, fed up with them, voted for the broom, our government started the process of major reforms in schools, hospitals and administration as soon as it came to power.

The Chief Minister said that the Akali leaders are once again asking for a chance from the people, although they have already received five chances from the Punjabis. “Instead of serving the people, they looted Punjab and therefore Punjabis showed them the door out of power. Their only aim is to grab power so that they can once again loot the treasury of Punjab.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that such leaders only care about their families and personal interests instead of Punjab and its people. “These opportunist leaders are in despair as people are not responding to them now. They have never been loyal to Punjab and have always undermined the interests of the state.

The Chief Minister also said that the AAP government has taken a historic decision to underground the high-tension power lines passing through the fields. He said that the pilot project will start from his native village Satauj. “This initiative will eliminate risks to human life, prevent crop losses and remove bottlenecks in agricultural operations. Our aim is to empower farmers, conserve natural resources and create a prosperous and sustainable Punjab.

Speaking about the traditional rural sports culture of Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Qila Raipur Rural Games have gained worldwide recognition as ‘mini Olympics’. He said that bullock cart races were once the glory of these sports. Therefore, “on July 11, 2025, the Punjab Legislative Assembly unanimously passed the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2025, paving the way for the revival of traditional rural sports like bullock cart races. After 2014, this year these races will once again become the hallmark of sports fairs.”

The Chief Minister further said that the AAP government will dedicate 3,100 newly constructed stadiums across Punjab by July 15 with an aim to encourage youth participation in sports and eradicate the menace of drugs. “Sports culture is the strongest weapon in the fight against drugs. When youth participate in sports, their energy goes towards achieving something and excelling. Youth involved in sports do not even have time to look at drugs as they are focused on excelling in their respective fields. This will help eradicate the problem of drugs and make the youth equal partners in the socio-economic development of Punjab.
