ਹਿਮੰਤਾ ਬਿਸਵਾ ਸਰਮਾ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਫੀਸ-ਮੁਆਫੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਅਸਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 1.95 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅੰਡਰਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੀਰੋ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਫੀਸ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।”
Officials said the fee waiver initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on students and their families while encouraging higher education enrollment across Assam. ਇਹ ਸਕੀਮ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਫਾਇਤੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said a total of 2,28,943 students secured admission to the first semester of four-year undergraduate programs in colleges and universities through a dedicated government portal. ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 1,85,796 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਫੀਸ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਲਿਆ।
ਅਸਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ 800 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ।
According to the Integrated District Information System for Education Plus data for 2024-25, the dropout rate at the lower and secondary levels in Assam has improved from the previous financial year. ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, 12ਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 71.9% ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ 11ਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ 12ਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
